Dermal fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid which is a natural substance found in the body. The so-called ‘marionette lines’ are ling vertical lines that commonly develop from the mouth down to the chin area as a result of the ageing process and other lifestyle factors. The skin on your face around the mouth area is thinner compared to other areas of the face, this makes it more prone to wrinkling. These lines are caused by a combination of collagen break down with age and the loss of elastin in the skin. When the elastin in the skin begins to break down it loosens the skin in areas such as the cheeks and the lower part of the face which is often known as ‘sagging’ skin creating wrinkles and jowls. Dermal fillers are injected into the marionette lines to fill the area of lost volume. It deeply hydrates the skin, treating deep wrinkles, folds, fine and deep lines.
