Lip filler, dermal fillers at our Kent clinic

Dermal fillers are a non-surgical aesthetic treatment and are used all over the face; lips, tear trough, cheeks, chin, jawline, nasal fold and marionette lines. Dermal fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid which is a natural substance found in the body. Dermal fillers are used to treat a wide range of concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, sagging skin, jowls and unhappiness of facial structures. Read more here.

What are dermal fillers and what do they do?

Dermal fillers are made up of a gel substance; hyaluronic acid. This substance is a naturally occurring substance in the human body and hyaluronic acid is incredibly hydrophilic which means it attracts water. This type of filler hydrates and plumps the area and retains moisture in your skin. There are different types of dermal fillers but hyaluronic acid-based fillers are Sculpt n Lifts chosen choice of filler. This is because they are FDA approved, credited, biodegradable and malleable. They're a much safer product as they are less prone to complications, the fillers used at Sculpt n Lift clinic can be dissolved unlike other filler types which sometimes require surgical removal. Dermal fillers at Sculpt n Lift clinic Kent can be treated for the following areas: lips, cheeks, chin, jawline, tear trough, nasal fold and marionette lines. The treatment of single dermal filler can be seen instantly and last between 6-18 months. the length of time filler last depends on a number of reasons: the area treated, how much filler has been placed into the area, lifestyle and age. Areas with less muscle movement such as jawline, chin and tear trough tend to last longer than areas with a lot of muscle movement like lips, cheeks and areas around the mouth (nasal fold and marionette lines). These areas will need more maintenance than areas with less muscle movement.

Dermal fillers are ideal to inject under the skin around the mouth area to smooth out wrinkles and replacing lost structures to the face from ageing. This will hydrate and fill the areas of unwanted creases, lines and folds which is perfect for the ultimate youthful and smooth appearance. They are also used to create volume in the cheeks and are great for sculpting the mid part of the face and plumping lips. With age you begin to lose the volume in your cheeks as well as losing your elasticity, cheek filler will essentially lift and shape your face to create a youthful appearance. At Sculpt n Lift clinic Kent, we really believe in natural looking results and adding to your natural beauty. It is important for us that all our clients leave feeling confident and happy with their results. As well as getting filler due to ageing we get a lot of younger clients who have cheek filler to enhance what they already have with an end goal of a shaper, contoured appearance. Lip filler is a very popular dermal filler treatment, dermal filler plumps and hydrates the lips. With age you lose a lot of lip volume as well as shape, whereas younger clients tend to want lip filler to enhance their lip volume and to give added shape. With a wide range of knowledge on techniques Sculpt n Lift clinic Kent, can create any shape you want. Tear trough filler is specifically for shallow eyes, dark circles and loss of volume. Using an advanced cannula needle technique gives the client comfortability during their treatment as well as a safer approach to treating the under-eye area. There are many benefits to cannula needle such as minimal downtime, no bruising, minimal swelling, low risk, no pain. At Sculpt n Lift clinic Kent, we use cannula needle technique for the following areas; tear trough, cheek contouring, jawline contouring and sometimes chin profiling. Jawline filler is a great method for the loss of lower face shape. With ageing your jawline shrinks and the loss of elasticity creates jowls, using jawline filler lifts the jowls and adds shape back to the lower face for that youthful structured appearance. Usually when treating the jawline area, we would add to the chin however this isn't always the case. Chin profiling can be used to give lift and contour complexions lacking definition.

Who are dermal fillers suitable for?

Do the injections hurt?

Before all of our treatments performed at Sculpt n Lift clinic Kent, we numb our clients using aesthetic numbing cream, so they have the most comfortable experience possible. You may experience mild to moderate pain and possibly a short-term stinging sensation that will shortly pass. Areas such as the lips tend to hurt slightly more than areas such as cheek, tear trough and jawline. This is because these areas are treated with an advanced cannula needle which are completely blunt and cause very minimal pain. These cannot be used in the lips; therefore, clients mostly find lips are slightly more uncomfortable. Filler types used at Sculpt n Lift clinic Kent all have lidocaine in, lidocaine is an aesthetic numbing substance. This means after a couple of injections points you will begin to feel pain free!

However, all treatments performed by practitioners at Sculpt n Lift clinic Kent are injected lightly with a gentle hand. If at any time during treatment you are feeling a little uncomfortable, we can apply some more aesthetic numbing cream or alternatively get an ice pack for you. Feedback we always receive is how gentle we are and how comfortable our clients have felt in comparison to previous experiences. We pride ourself on being a clinic that really cares about our clients and their treatment journey, you can find our clients testimonials on our website, click here to read more.

Are dermal fillers safe?

Dermal fillers are a very safe procedure and here at Sculpt n Lift clinic Kent we only used high quality FDA approved products. When performed by a professional and qualified aesthetician most people experience no or very minor side effects. Minor side effects are to be expected and these include localised swelling, tenderness and sometimes small bruising. This resolves from 2-4 days which leaves beautiful, natural looking results. There are many horror stories publicised about dermal filler which gives a lot of doubt when clients are thinking about having treatments. Many of these stories that have occurred are by people who are not fully trained or uninsured and are injecting substances that shouldn't be injected or are not FDA approved. It is very important you choose a reputable clinic to have your dermal filler treatments. Knowledge and experience are key for the best results and assurance that any complications can be dealt with.

How to choose a reputable clinic for your dermal filler treatment?

There are many uninsured and unqualified practitioners who treat clients daily which is something you should be aware of. So, what exactly should you be looking for in an aesthetician or clinic?

Insurance - A professional and reputable clinic should be fully insured and should be willing to show you evidence of this if asked. Insurance is very important for the protection of the clinic as well as the clients who are being treated. It is a big warning is a clinic/ aesthetic practitioner is treating clients without any insurance, this is illegal.

FDA approved products - All products should be FDA approved, if the clinic/aesthetic practitioner is not using FDA approved products it can be dangerous and is a warning that the products being used may not be safe. These products are often not supported by insurances too so this is why approved products are very important. Here at the Sculpt n Lift clinic Kent, we only use FDA approved products and make sure we use filler brands that are established and high quality.

Qualifications - Look for a clinic/aesthetic practitioner who is fully qualified. They should be able to tell you exactly what they have been trained in, where they trained and dates of completion. Most clinics/aesthetic practitioners should have their certificates of qualifications on their walls so they are visible for clients to see.

Reviews - Reviews are very important, this is a good way for you to be able to see how other people have found their experience with the clinic/aesthetic practitioner. If there are no visible reviews this could be a warning that they don't have any good ones. Any reputable clinic will have good reviews and will want to show these off in order to show how professional and good they are.

Before and after results - A highly skilled clinic/aesthetic practitioner should be displaying before and after results. If you cannot see any before vs after pictures, do not be afraid to ask to see some, along with any questions you may have. It is important you can see how the clinic/aesthetic practitioner works and the type of results they get. It’s your face, its vital to be confident that they will do a good job!

Honest consultations - All reputable clinics/aesthetic practitioners should do a full consultation with you before any treatment. You should be asked exactly what you want and your end goal which should then be consulted to a treatment plan. Treatment plans are what the clinic/aesthetic practitioner advises based on their knowledge and your individual requirements. All information such as how much dermal filler will be used, the price of the treatment and the end results you should expect should be some of what they include in the consultation. This should always be approved by the client before any treatment is started.

Make sure your chosen aesthetic practitioner has a creative flare and an eye for good shaping, to suit individual facial structures is essential for obtaining an enhanced natural shape to make you look your very best.

Here at Sculpt n Lift clinic Kent our fully trained, insured and experienced aesthetic practitioners can help you achieve natural looking results. We aim to make you feel confident and beautiful!
